Eating disorder symptoms such as binge eating, purging, restriction and over exercising are only some of the many eating disordered behaviors we use to cope with life. These symptoms become a way to distract from our fears and unmet needs. Over time we can become lost in the ruminating thoughts of body image, calories, weight, clean eating and exercise.
I have a passion for helping individuals and group members increase their healthy coping skills as they slowly remove power from their eating disorder. In addition, I have extensive experience counseling individuals with depression and anxiety that can lead to debilitating symptoms such as panic attacks, obsessive thoughts, isolation and codependency.
Throughout my career, I have strategically worked in a variety of settings in order to increase my effectiveness. i.e. teen group homes, foster/adoption agencies, residential eating disorder facilities, psychiatric hospitals, regional centers, crisis houses and Kaiser psychiatry. Please allow me to support you in honoring yourself.
